유학생 아르바이트 규정

D-2 and D-4 visa holders can work part-time in Korea, but only after obtaining a Part-Time Work Permit (시간제 취업 허가) from immigration.

Eligibility Requirements

  • Minimum GPA of C (2.0)
  • Korean language proof: TOPIK score, KIIP completion, or Sejong Institute certificate
  • D-4 students: must wait 6 months after arrival

How to Apply

  1. Get a standard labor contract (표준근로계약서) from your employer
  2. Get a confirmation letter from your university’s international office
  3. Submit through HiKorea (hikorea.go.kr) or at your local Immigration Office
  4. Wait for approval before starting work

Restricted Industries

Prohibited or restricted: construction, delivery services (delivery apps), entertainment establishments (유흥업소), and any work incompatible with student status.

Your Labor Rights

Korean labor law protects all workers regardless of nationality:

  • Minimum wage applies to all workers
  • Your employer must provide a written contract
  • Overtime pay applies for hours beyond the agreement
  • You are covered by industrial accident insurance
