如何准备签证延期

You can apply for an extension up to 4 months before your current stay expires, and no later than the expiration date. Start early to allow time for gathering documents.

Application Window

When: Up to 4 months before expiration → expiration date

Where: HiKorea (hikorea.go.kr, ₩50,000) or Immigration Office in person (₩60,000)

Overstaying without an approved extension can result in fines, re-entry restrictions, or deportation.

Common Documents (All Visa Types)

  • Integrated Application Form (통합신청서, Form No. 34)
  • Passport and ARC
  • Proof of residence (lease contract, utility bill)
  • Application fee

Additional Documents by Visa Type

Common Mistakes

  • Applying too late — if you apply on the last day with incomplete documents, you may face issues.
  • Outdated address on ARC — ensure your registered address is current.
  • Missing financial proof — bank balance certificates are time-sensitive.
  • Ignoring NHIS payments — unpaid health insurance premiums can affect your extension.
