Voice Phishing (보이스피싱)
Scammers call pretending to be from immigration, police, or a bank. They claim you have an unpaid fine or a suspicious transaction.
Text Message Phishing (스미싱)
Fraudulent texts with links that appear to come from delivery services, banks, or government agencies. Never click links in unexpected text messages.
Rental Deposit Fraud (전세사기)
A landlord collects large deposits on a heavily mortgaged property, then disappears or declares bankruptcy. Protect yourself by checking the property registry (등기부등본), using a licensed agent (공인중개사), and considering deposit guarantee insurance from HUG (khug.or.kr).
